A patch test before every first course
Fifteen minutes, free, and non-negotiable. We fire a small number of pulses at several energy levels on a discreet area, then wait 24 to 48 hours to see how your skin responds. Any adverse reaction shows up on a coin-sized patch rather than across a whole leg.
Your settings are on file
Every pulse energy, pulse width and cooling level we use on you is recorded and reused. It means session eight is calibrated to your skin, not to an average — and that whoever treats you is working from data rather than judgement on the day.
Eye protection, always
Wavelength-rated goggles for you and for the technician, every session, without exception. Retinal damage from a stray reflected pulse is instantaneous and permanent, which is why we will not start until they are on.
Skin assessed at every visit, not just the first
Sun exposure, self-tan, new medication and hormonal changes all alter how your skin responds. We check before every session and reduce energy or reschedule if something has changed. Rescheduling costs you a few weeks; a burn costs considerably more.
Single-use and sanitised throughout
Disposable underwear and gowns, single-use gel and applicators, and handpieces disinfected between every client, in line with the BC Personal Services Establishment Regulation and Interior Health guidance for our premises.
We say no when the answer is no
Unpigmented hair, active infection, recent isotretinoin, pregnancy, tattooed skin in the treatment area — there is a real list of situations where laser is the wrong choice. You will hear it at the patch test, before any money changes hands.
